How integration works
We configure a Workday MCP connector that authenticates via OAuth 2.0 and connects to Workday's REST APIs. Read-only access. No data modification.
The connector crawls authorized Workday objects: employee profiles, policies, benefits, compensation structures, and org data. Content is vectorized and indexed in Azure AI Search.
Workday's role-based access controls are mapped to search permissions. An HR manager sees different results than an individual contributor.
For task completion (expense submission, PTO requests), we configure action agents that interact with Workday's API to execute workflows on behalf of the user.
